Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with soul, gospel music and R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway up to the Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine's given the name of Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta, she originates in Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing the piano in church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she started her journey in music on the Atlanta's R&B music scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice, Stalk You a House 12, was only released in Japan. It's been remixed several times, and is the mainstay in her live performance. Her voice was also featured on the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as the principal keyboardist on the stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine became famous throughout the four performances of The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine sang during the 2009 Obama Inauguration.
